January 2013
Sally is in Pune this month and sends along these notes from a class with Prashant.
Themes
Each of us is a cooperative. We are an orchestra. The group is the same but the leader can be different.
First lead from the spine, then pelvis then face then foot. The quality of the breath changes. It is like rough material when working from the foot, and fine material when working from the face.
We cannot avoid conditioning any more than gravity (Nasa thinks it can avoid gravity, but it cannot). But we condition ourselves to UNcondition ourselves. Work with the conditioning so you know how you work, don’t just be a slave to the conditioning. The actress worries about a gray hair. A yogi who is only physical worries about old age. It is not about doing or knowing, or just merely believing. It is about loving and being loved by God. The body must be the means, not the end. Its about ethos, rather than technique. When the captain changes, then the way the team functions changes, even tho’ the team remains the same.
If Prashant gave me $10,000 I would think I was happy.
Let the breath give the collective what it needs to be happy.
